What is SoloQC?

SoloQC is a self-check app for hotel and villa cleaners. Before leaving a room, the cleaner photographs a few fixed points, such as the bed, the desk corner, the sink, the toilet and the shower. An AI model checks each photo against your checklist and tells the cleaner within seconds if something was missed, so it is fixed before a guest finds it.

Managers get a photo log of how every room was cleaned, and analytics by room and by cleaner.

How much time does it add per room?

Each photo point takes about 20 to 25 seconds, so a room with 5 points adds about 2 minutes. The check runs in the background: after each photo the camera moves straight to the next point, and the result for the previous photo arrives while the cleaner is taking the next one. Usually it takes a few seconds.

A stayover clean (guest still in the room) usually has only 2 or 3 points. Photo points are capped at 10 per room type even on Pro, on purpose: more photos would cost your staff more time than they save.

What exactly does the AI check?

Each photo point has up to 5 short yes-or-no statements that you write or pick from a template, for example "Two towels are folded on the bed" or "The sink is dry and has no hair". For each statement the model answers yes, no, or not visible. One "no" means the point needs fixing. "Not visible" asks the cleaner to retake the photo closer.

The AI only judges what can be seen in the photo. It cannot tell whether a surface was disinfected or whether the minibar was restocked behind a closed door.

How accurate is the AI check?

We do not publish an accuracy figure yet, because we have only measured it on test photos, not in real hotels at scale. We will publish field numbers once we have them.

Accuracy depends a lot on how a checklist item is worded. Clear, positive, single-fact statements ("The bin is empty") work much better than negations or counts ("There are no more than four pillows"). The checklist editor warns about wording that tends to fail.

What happens if the AI is wrong?

If a point fails twice, the cleaner can mark it as done manually, and must choose a reason. The room is not blocked. Every manual mark and its reason is visible to the manager next to the photo, so you can see whether the cleaner or the checklist was right.

Checklist items that are often overridden stand out in the admin, which usually means the statement needs rewording. There is a limit of 5 photo attempts per point, after which only a manual mark is possible.

Can cleaners upload photos from the phone gallery?

No. Photos can only be taken with the live camera inside the app. The app has no access to the photo gallery on either iPhone or Android, so old photos cannot be reused.

How do I set up a checklist?

A checklist belongs to a room type, so 100 identical rooms share one checklist. You can start from a ready-made template (a standard hotel room or a villa), write your requirements as a list and let SoloQC turn them into photo points and statements for you to review, or edit everything by hand.

You can test a checklist on a few sample photos in the editor before your staff use it.

Which phones does the cleaner app run on?

The cleaner app runs on iPhone and Android phones. iPad is not supported. Managers use the web admin in any modern browser.

Do cleaners need an email address or an account?

No. A cleaner signs in with the property code and a personal 6-digit code that the manager creates. Changing the code signs that cleaner out everywhere. Cleaners are not counted or charged; there is no per-user fee.

Does it work offline?

No. Each photo is checked on our server, so the phone needs a connection. Without one the app shows "Connect to the internet" and photo taking pauses until the connection is back. There is no offline queue. Each photo is about 100 KB.

Which languages are supported?

Today the cleaner app and the web admin are in English only. More languages are planned. You can write your requirements in your own language when generating a checklist; SoloQC turns them into English checklist statements that you review.

How much does SoloQC cost?

SoloQC Free costs $0 for up to 5 rooms at 1 property, with 7 days of photo history. It is free for as long as you use it, not a trial.

SoloQC costs $2 per room per month on Starter, with a $29 monthly minimum (the minimum covers up to 14 rooms), for up to 3 properties and 30 days of photo history.

SoloQC costs $1.50 per room per month on Pro, with a $99 monthly minimum (the minimum covers up to 66 rooms), for unlimited properties and 90 days of photo history.

Pro costs less than Starter from 50 rooms.

What counts as a room?

A room is an active room set up in SoloQC. A hotel room counts as 1. A villa counts as its number of bedrooms, so a 3-bedroom villa counts as 3 rooms. Archived rooms are not counted and archiving is free. You pay per room, not per check, per photo or per cleaner.

How does the monthly minimum work?

The monthly bill is the larger of the plan minimum and the per-room price times the number of active rooms: Starter = max($29, $2 × rooms), Pro = max($99, $1.50 × rooms). For example, on Starter 10 rooms cost $29 a month and 30 rooms cost $60; on Pro 30 rooms cost $99 and 100 rooms cost $150. Starter's minimum covers up to 14 rooms and Pro's covers up to 66 rooms.

Is the Free plan a trial?

No. The Free plan is free for as long as you use it, for up to 5 rooms, 1 property and 1 room type. The AI check is exactly the same on every plan; paid plans add rooms, properties, room types and longer history.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. There is no contract. You can cancel or change plan from the billing page in the admin. If you add or archive rooms during the month, the bill is adjusted pro rata. If your account fits the Free plan limits you can switch to Free and keep using SoloQC.

How do I pay?

By card, through Stripe. Prices are in US dollars and billed monthly. Other payment methods, such as bank transfer or invoice, are not available yet. If a payment fails, cleaners can keep working for 7 days while you update the card.

Does SoloQC work for villas?

Yes. A villa is one unit with a bigger checklist: up to 10 photo points per villa type on Free, 16 on Starter and 20 on Pro, so beds, bathrooms, kitchen, living room and pool can all be covered. A villa is billed by its bedrooms.

How long are photos kept?

Cleaning photos and the check log are kept for 7 days on Free, 30 days on Starter and 90 days on Pro. Older photos are deleted automatically once a day. Reference photos you set for a checklist are kept until you delete them.

Who sees the photos?

Your managers see the photos of your properties in the admin. To check a photo, SoloQC sends a resized copy to a third-party AI model provider for analysis. We do not currently limit which provider region processes a request or how long the provider keeps it, so please do not use SoloQC where that is not acceptable to you. What about guests and staff in the photos?

Photos are taken after cleaning, of fixed points such as the bed or the sink, so guests should not be in them. Ask cleaners not to photograph guests, their belongings or documents. SoloQC stores a cleaner’s name as entered by the manager (a first name is enough) and does not use face recognition.

What happens to my data if I stop paying?

Nothing is deleted when a subscription ends. If your account is over the Free plan limits, checks pause and the admin becomes read-only until you pay or archive rooms down to the Free limits. Photos still follow your plan’s retention window. You can ask us to delete your account and data at any time.
